Time limit and form of appeal
- Notice of appeal shall be filed in writing at the Office within two months of the date of
notification of the decision. The notice shall be deemed to have been filed only when the
fee for appeal has been paid. It shall be filed in the language of the proceedings in which
the decision subject to appeal was taken. Within four months of the date of notification of
the decision, a written statement setting out the grounds of appeal shall be filed.
- In inter partes proceedings, the defendant may, in his response, seek a decision annulling
or altering the contested decision on a point not raised in the appeal. Such submissions
shall cease to have effect should the appellant discontinue the proceedings.
